Machine Vision “Smart” Cameras

  • Teledyne Dalsa “Smart” Cameras come preloaded with iNspect software.  This menu driven, easy-to-use software, was designed for the novice vision user in mind. 

  • Camera resolutions start at 640x480 pixels and go to 5 megapixels on the BOA2 model.

  • Applications include measuring, presence/absence, positioning, bar code and OCR reading to name a few.  Built in industrial standard protocols including Ethernet I/P, Modbus TCP and ProfiNET allow easy interfacing to automation controllers such as PLCs.


Machine Vision Software Solutions

Teledyne Dalsa offers two different software solution sets including iNspect and Sherlock software. 

  • iNspect software was designed for solving “basic” inspection problems such as: absence/presence of a part, dimensional measurements, bar code reading, etc. 

  • Although offered as software to be run on any Windows based PC, iNspect software is most commonly deployed on one of Teledyne Dalsa’s “Smart” cameras including the BOA Spot, BOA or BOA2 models. 

  • iNspect software is extremely easy to use and designed for a user with little or no vision software experience. 

  • In contrast to iNspect, Teledyne Dalsa’s Sherlock software is the better choice for: complex vision applications, multi-camera applications and high resolution/high speed requirements.

  • Sherlock if often run on one of Teledyne Dalsa’s GEVA series PC based products or on any Windows based PC.

CAMERA FLEXIBILITY

  • GEVA vision systems are compatible with a wide range of cameras for both area and line based imaging.

  • These include our full complement of Gigabit Ethernet and Camera Link cameras with mono or color sensors, as well as 3rd party alternatives.

  • Expanding or modifying your camera configuration is both easy and cost effective with GEVA.

MULTI-CAMERA INSPECTION

  • Our GEVA vision systems running Sherlock software offer the performance and flexibility to inspect multiple parts, assemblies or surfaces at the same time.

  • These systems are equipped with multi-core processors, high-speed camera ports and versatile I/O options to match your application and factory integration requirements.

I/O Solutions

  • We offer standard I/O solutions for all of our systems. These breakout modules provide isolation for cameras and simplify integration within the control environment.

  • In addition, some of our systems have I/O capabilities built in.

  • Our embedded software applications support standard factory protocols for communicating with complementary equipment.
